KTM 890 Adventure R is expected to launch in India in November 2024 in the expected price range of ₹ 12,00,000 to ₹ 14,00,000. Currently available bikes which are similar to 890 Adventure R are Triumph Tiger 900, BMW F850 GS & Suzuki V-Strom 800DE. Another bike similar to 890 Adventure R is BMW F900 GS which is launching in September 2024 in India.
The KTM 890 Adventure R is the top-spec variant in the line-up. This motorcycle is known for its excellent off-roading capabilities worldwide. It draws a lot of styling cues from the 790 Adventure but now looks far more aggressive and sharper. It gets a tall windscreen, low-slung fuel tank, knuckle guards, split seats, and a tall-set exhaust.
The motorcycle is powered by an 889cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder engine that it shares with the 890 Duke series. The Euro5-compliant motor is tuned to deliver 103.5bhp of power and 100Nm of peak torque on the adventure tourer.
The hardware on the motorcycle comprises a WP APEX rear shock that features a rebound damping adjuster and an additional hand adjuster for spring preload. The suspension setup at the front includes WP-sourced upside-down front forks. The motorcycle packs 200mm of suspension travel, Dakar Rally-inspired ergonomics, accessible seat height, a low fender, a 20-litre fuel tank, and the KTM MY RIDE Navigation.
The KTM 890 Adventure also gets adventure-spec tyres, a full-size TFT dashboard, cornering ABS, motorcycle traction control, motor slip regulation, and two-step adjustable seat height. Buyers can also opt for accessories like cruise control, Quickshifter+, heated seats, and grips.
KTM will bring the 890 Adventure R to India as a completely built-up (CBU) unit and that means, the pricing will be on the higher side. It will compete with the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally, Honda XL750 Transalp and the soon-to-be-launched BMW F900GS.
