Our review on Toyota Land Cruiser Prado
On May 1996, the second generation of Land Cruiser Prado was released for sale. It was developed by applying the design of Highlux surf.
The line-up was consisted of the 3-door short (5-person riding capability) with 2 seats rows and the 5-door long (8-person riding capability) with 3 detachable seats rows. The body style was featured large variant of multi-reflector head lights and a rounded style. By adopting 6:4 detachable second seats, it enabled users to have various seat arrangement in full flat manner.
For the engine, the following types are available: V6 DOHC 3.4 liter gasoline engine and DOHC 2.7 liter four-cylinder diesel turbo engine.
Transmission types are available in 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic.
The driving system was changed from part-time 4WD to full-time 4WD, and 3 types of driving mode, high range/center differential free and low range/center differential lock, are available.
For the safety features, collision safety body GOA, ABS, Dual SRS Airbag, UV cutting glass, and engine immobilizer system are equipped.
In addition, for standard type with automatic transmission, both Active TRC and Vehicle Stability Control System is available as an option.
