Our review on Toyota Vanguard

  Toyota Vanguard was released for sale in August 2007 as a new medium-class SUV. It can be called a long body version of Toyota RAV4, but in contrast to RAV4, the concept of Vanguard was active & luxury, and was developed focusing on the design, pleasure of driving, multi-functionality and multi-passenger use. Still keeping an image of RAV4 design, Vanguard was designed for active urban lifestyle.
Toyota Vanguard is showing its sense of high-quality interior, by placing bronze decorations and chrome coating. For its luxury grade, even genuine leather & Alcantara seats are used.
Toyota Vanguard’s body is 235 mm longer compared to RAV4, and the wheelbase is also extended by 100 mm. As a result, not only for 5 seaters but also 7 seaters were prepared for all grades.
Toyota Vanguard’s engine can be chosen from 2 types: 2.4 liters in-line 4-cylinders engine (125 kW / 224 Nm) and 3.5 liters 6-cylinders V6 engine. 4-cylinders engine model is equipped with continuously variable transmission Hyper CVT-i, 6-cylinders engine model is equipped with 5-speed electronic control transmission Super ECT.
All cars are adopted with the active torque control 4WD system, and steering-assisted vehicle stability control S-VSC is built in. Initially, 2WD version did not exist. Hill start assist control & downhill assist control are integrated into all models as a standard equipment. Safety features are really great: SRS airbag system, curtain airbags, 3-point seat belt for the rear center seat, headrest etc. are equipped.
