The Toyota Vista is a mid-sized, mid-market luxury sedan built on platform used by Lexus. Used Toyota Vista are known for reliability, with some reviewers reporting in excess of half a million kilometers and still running. One of the best, most solidly built cars ever made.
The Vista was a new high-grade middle-sized sedan launched in March 1982 from the Toyota Vista sales channel. It was a twin of the first-generation front-engine, front-wheel-drive (FF) Camry, which was developed as the replacement of the Celica Camry and marketed through the Corolla channel.
Its styling was exceptionally innovative and sophisticated for a Japanese car. The engine transversely mounted in the front was either a 1.8-liter VVT-i (130 PS), a 2-liter direct injection D-4 (140 PS), or a 2-liter “high-mecha” twin-cam (135 PS) dedicated to the 4-wheel-drive (4WD) model.
It’s a wonderful Car offering the best of features along with the safety among contemporary cars. But it disappoints on mileage front, as it delivers around 11 in the city and overall highway mileage is 14 on AC, if driven 80+, 16 if driven below 70.
